Our second week of 'On board the Karura' celebrates the birthday of our captain, Tezuka Kunimitsu. Our ship is led by the EAA's youngest and most talented graduate, although he is oddly sensitive about personal jokes.





Everyone, don't let your guard down.

Oishi, try not to throw the real Tezuka into space if you play 'homicide' with more of the cardboard ones.

Somehow I feel this is a bit disingenuous. Does Tezuka ever not wear his uniform? I've never seen him out of it. I don't think he even owns pajamas.

Part of my gift was to suggest an outfit he might be able to relax in.

Will these be as mobile as Shishido's were? I would like to know in advance if I'm going to find pyjama clad Tezukas rolling into my med-bay.

Of course there are. I believe some of the younger nurses might be pleased; they seem to be starting a collection.

Of pyjamas? Cutouts? Or a fund for our captain's new wardrobe? I do seem to be missing a few of the Tezuka cutouts.

And I was going to blame Oishi. How wrong of me.

What is the fate of the stolen cutouts? I should write a piece on this for the outreach leaflet.

I didn't realise Oishi had such strong feelings about Tezuka.

I rather suspect they make their way into one of their quarters. Whether or not they become part of a shrine of some sort, I can't be certain.

Fuji... can you maybe stick to posters? The cardboard cutouts reduce the functionality of the walkways and can make moving around the ship more dangerous. Especially if there's an emergency.

Could we negotiate, Shishido? I could restrict the cardboard cutouts to only the canteen, garden and interaction areas. Posters and service bots in the hallways.

The cardboard figures do disappear quickly, for some reason.

Do they really need to be on the service bots? I've gotten a stack of complaints about those ones scaring people.

I feel they are the most noticeable. And Oshitari-san's birthday is soon and let's face it, that will be hilarious on service bots. I'd hate to change the pattern for so close together events. People will think I value him less than you or Tezuka.
